Welcome to Psyche Therapy

In Greek mythology, Psyche was the goddess of the soul. In psychology, the psyche refers to the totality of the human mind, both conscious and unconscious: the thoughts and feelings we readily understand, as well as the patterns, memories, desires, defenses, and parts of ourselves that may exist outside of our immediate awareness. I believe therapy can be a place to become more deeply acquainted with all of these parts of ourselves.

Often, we come to therapy because something no longer feels sustainable. We may find ourselves repeating patterns we understand intellectually but cannot seem to change, struggling in our relationships, feeling disconnected from ourselves, carrying experiences from the past into the present, or simply sensing that the life we are living no longer feels entirely like our own.

My approach is less about telling you who you should become and more about helping you understand who you already are.

Together, we can become curious about the ways you have learned to move through the world, the relationships and experiences that have shaped you, the places where you feel stuck, and the parts of yourself that may have been silenced, protected, hidden, or left unexplored.

Therapy can make room for contradiction. You can want change and still be afraid of it. You can understand why you developed a particular way of coping while also recognizing that it no longer serves you. You can love someone and struggle in relationship with them. You can be grateful for your life and still know that something is missing.

There does not have to be anything fundamentally wrong with you for you to want to know yourself more deeply.

Come with me to explore your psyche, make meaning of what you find there, and create a life that feels increasingly authentic, connected, and your own.

We all have a desire to be known
